I edit on a Late 2013 Mac Pro (the trashcan) OS 11.6.8 Big Sur.

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

AMD FirePro D700 6GB Graphics

I'm having trouble with Adobe software in general lately and I'm trying to figure out if it's my computer hardware or software.

I use Premiere Pro 2022 and, quite frankly, everything started flaking after I updated to 2022 (from 2021) which I wouldn't have done, but a client sent me a PP2022 project file. Premiere started being slow and laggy...and not quitting. I have to force quit to close the application. Then Photoshop stopped saving files. I could quit, but I couldn't save any files. I could export out a png though.

Trashed preferences - nothing. Backed up everything and reinstalled the whole system. Same results.

I cleaned up my past versions of Adobe software and reinstalled the latest versions of Premiere, Photoshop and AfterEffects. There was some change -- Photoshop and AfterEffects will no longer even open! Same problem with Premiere not quitting and being laggy. We have ordered a new computer, but it's not expected until October...and I need to use Photoshop and AfterEffects.

First, am I posting the right community.

Second, anyone come across something like this?

Thanks

In addition to the Trashcan Mac's potentially running hot the FirePro graphics cards (which contributed to the heat issues) were also known for issues and failure. I'd put a second vote in for a possible hardware issue. Run the Mac hardware tests and also check the Mac for buildup of dust. Also remember you can still install 2021 versions of Adobe software if it's just the 2022 versions that are causing issues.

    Is it overheating?

It seems like it might be a hardware issue.

I have an extra fan on it whenever it's on.
