I am not seeing the speed increases with the new software. Does it matter if the drivers are the "studio" or "game ready" versions?

Requirements:

NVIDIA Linux display driver 435.21 or newer
NVIDIA Windows display driver 436.15 or newer

GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER
Version: 445.87 WHQL
Release Date: 2020.4.15
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
Language: English (US)
File Size: 535.7 MB

NVIDIA STUDIO DRIVER
Version: 442.92
Release Date: 2020.4.16
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
Language: English (US)
File Size: 530.23 MB

Like Ann stated. There is absolutely no Studio Driver at all in the 445 branch. And during testing at Nvidia (not Adobe) all of the 445.xx and 446.xx drivers have serious stability issues when used with content-creation software. As such, you will not see a Quadro driver (the Studio Driver is the GeForce equivalent to the Quadro driver) higher than 442.92 at this present time.

What is the exact GPU do you have?

You see, not all GeForce GPUs are supported (for example, the GeForce GT 1030 and any other GeForce GPU that's based on a GM108 or GP108 chip do not support NVENC at all). And not all GeForce GPUs can use the Studio Drivers (whose compatibility is restricted to the GTX and RTX 10 series or higher, or a Pascal or later architecture, GPU).

I have an RTX2080. It is on the supported list. I am running the Studio Driver 442.92.

I would go for the studio driver.
