@Sr.+H616 Thank you for sending a sample clip and the project. That was very helpful. I can see why you’re having an issue because even though the clip inside the project was offline, I ingested the sample one you gave me and it does not play or for that matter show audio waveforms, but this is due to the clip properties more than anything.

The audio thankfully is there and the video plays alright because I tested this exporting a small section of the .mkv into an .mp4 through Media Encoder. It seems as though there is an echo and the audio isn’t playing quite right at any rate, so the settings I think will need an adjustment.

Are you using OBS to record these clips? Perhaps you could show us a screenshot of your OBS > Settings > Output. It seems Premiere does not like the settings currently on your .mkv.

Premiere does support .mkv but usually as h.264/AAC audio. If your file uses a different codec (like H.265/HEVC) or uncommon audio formats, it’ll experience issues.

My suggestion is to go back through your output settings and ensure Audio is on AAC (maybe it says FFmpeg AAC) you can try this with .mkv again to see if that helps, or maybe put it on the Hybrid MP4 (.mp4) selection.

Let us know if this helps!

Appreciate your time,
Katie

@KatieToo

I’m using “Studio Driver” version “58.1.57”

My Premiere project are in my C: Drive, but my files are in my D: drive

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do i see the sample rate of my source files?

Hi @Sr. H616

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums! We are glad to see you here. Thanks for including that information so far. Can you let me know which driver for your GeForce you’re on? That’d usually be “Studio” or “Game Ready” and which version currently is installed.

Where are you saving/storing your Premiere project and files like is it on main drive C: or another? Do you have any external drives or anything else plugged in as well?

Another possibility from a similar issue like you’ve having is it could be related to an audio sample rate mismatch. If your project is set to 48 kHz but some source files are at a different rate (44.1 kHz for example), Premiere generates waveform data for all of them on every open. Try going to Sequence Settings under Sequence > Sequence Settings and confirming the sample rate matches your source audio.

Sorry for the frustration and hope we can help soon!

Happy to help,
Katie

@Sr.+H616 Thank you for that update. What kind of hard drive is your D: - ssd/HD and internal or external and how much space?

No worries, I can tell you how to find your sample rate for audio. Click on your Project Panel, and hit “~” tilde to make it full screen (it’ll be easier to scroll and read). Then, scroll to the right until you see “Audio Info” and you’ll probably see something like 48000hz - Stereo for example.

Compare that to your Sequence settings. You can find that info by going to the top menu to Sequence > Sequence Settings.

Hope that helps,
Katie
