Question

Object Mask Data Offline

Working in the latest version of Premiere Pro

Object mask data  - once it goes offline you cannot reattach it - even by pointing Premiere to the correct folder

Is there a way of creating a matte quickly from Object Mask to avoid this

We have a dozen workstations with experienced users and none of us have ever successfully reattached the data once it disconnects

    What is causing the mask files to go offline?

    Also, do you get a prompt like this when you open the project?

    @PaulMurphy

    Exactly - we get that prompt and then it won’t connect
    100 times out of 100 it doesn’t connect.
    We have two servers mirroring one another - i think this is why - there must be file path information inside the mask data that can’t understand when we move servers.

    You have to make sure the folder has the same name as the project and both in the main folder.

    Dont see how to make a matte; the prmf file is unreadable.

    @Ann Bens Thank you it’s not that simple unfortunately

    I’d love to know more about how the mask data is linked to the project

    Kevin here is aware we have two identical servers mirroring so i imagine its that same issue.

    But its very annoying - in the meantime maybe the workaround could be to make it an after effects dynamic link at the moment the mask is created which would give us more options later

    thank you
