Question

Object Masks - Unassigned Masks - Disapear Carrort Twril - Open and Close

Hello,  I am using object mask tool, it’s been working well, 15 hours so far making masks. One issue I noticed twice.

•    Issue:
If I duplicate a track, v1,v2, while the track has an object mask, the option to select the unassigned mask disapears. So you can’t edit the mask.

What seems to return it, is if I make a new object mask on the clip. The old mask is there, but the ability to edit or see the keyframes get removed.

    •    Steps to Reproduce: A numbered list of the exact steps needed to replicate the issue.
    •    Expected Result: What should happen after the final step? The mask options in unassigned mask should remain as is, selectable.

    •    Premiere Version: 26.2.2
    •    Operating System: Mac Tahoe 26.4 M4 Macbook Pro
    •
    •    Video Format: mov, proress.

Make a object mask, twirl closed the carrort, sometimes it doesn’t open again.

    Hi @WhyAdoobie?,

The team tried to reproduce the issue on an M4 and an M2 machine, and had the Object Mask Tool working properly in all instances.

Would it be possible to share a screenshot, or screen record, of your timeline with the Effects Control Panel in view? We’re interested in seeing the different types of media/clips on the timeline surrounding the applied effect.

    Best,

    Jonathan

Okay, I am going call it, user error. I can’t duplicate it either, the only thing I can figure out is; I must have deleted the effect with the applied mask, thus removing the assigned mask, instead of dragging it back to unassigned area. It was one video clip, duplicated, then I would remove the effect after duplicating. Then notice the mask was gone.  Thank you for the prompt reply, this tool is crazy good.
