OBS-Captured Footage Has No Sound In Premiere?

Hi,

I'm trying to make a video using footage I captured using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS.) When I play the clip normally on my media player, it works just fine. But when I import the files into Premiere, the video's there but the audio is gone. Why is this happening, and how can I fix this?

arg,

Demux your audio before importing the clip into Premiere Pro. There is shareware on the internet that can assist you with this.

Report back after trying this.

Thanks,
Kevin

What's Demuxing?

I'm having the same issue, and it used to be just fine. I changed some settings, but I can't find the combo that was working again. I didn't do any "demuxing" when it was working, so I believe there should be the solution without 3rd tools. There always should be a solution that doesn't involve 3rd party tools.

Ok, the actual solution is to go to OBS settings, Output, and be sure to select the correct audio encoder. For me it was FFmpegALAC 24-bit.

Hi arg214,

Sorry for the trouble with audio. What is the exact dot version of Premiere Pro? FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

What is the file format and codec of the captured file? Just for a test, transcode the file in Handbrake, import into Premiere Pro and test.

Let us know the status.

Thanks,

Vidya
