Once I drag a clip from my source video down into the timeline, the playback is darker

I have great looking footage from my source file taken with a Canon R5. When I choose a portion of the clip and drag it to the timeline. The exposure darkens and overall the color grading looks terrible.  I have made many projects with this same camera in adobe premier pro and never have had this issue. Does anyone know the possible issue or a solution?
