Open captions and export

Hi!

I've been experiencing a bug with exporting Open Captions - they don't show up.

I see them on the timeline, I can edit them and move them around, but when I press CTRL + M, the captions are not visible on the preview screen or the exported file. Yeah, I've checked the Captions panel and set it to burn the captions in. Nothing changes. Created new sequences and projects with new captions, made sure the size of the captions are the same as the sequence, yet still nothing.

I am working on a Windows 10 machine, i7 7th gen processor, 1060 Ti graphics card. And I don't think it's connected with the specs since last November, for example, I captioned a whole short-film this way with no errors or bugs. This is an occasional bug I've been experiencing for a while now, but now since the last update, I just can't get them to work in any way.

Working on the latest update of Premiere 13.0.2.

Is there a work around this bug or am I doing something wrong?

Are you looking for them in the Export dialogue window? Or in an exported file? If exported, have you tried exporting directly from PR rather than queuing to media encoder?

They are visible in my project, when I playback the timeline, I can see the captions. Whenever I decide to export, the export settings window has a preview section and that's the moment when they disappear, I can't see them in the preview, meaning, that even if I export, they are not visible on the end file.

I export directly from Premiere, so it's not an encoder issue.

Well, well. I didn't know that. I thought I had checked it out in PR. But I was focused on the fact that AME displays the captions in the render window when burning in successfully. And PR does not, of course, display the status when doing the export itself. So I had not looked to see that they are displayed in the Export Settings dialogue if they are to be burned in.

In my test just now, open captions show in the preview window as long as "burn in" is set in the caption tab. I also note that closed captions do the same and do not show if sidecar or embed is selected.

I could not find a way to make them "disappear."

I do not recall this particular problem. I would try resetting preferences and then a reinstall.
