Open captions - default style, Duplicate etc

Is there a ‘default’ setting for open captions?

There’s (CC2020) still no easy way to copy/paste clip in timeline (results in instance that refers to original, so editing text changes both instances) or duplicate in project (editing text in duplicate does not show until PP is restarted).

Open captions are neat, but half baked so far.
