Open Subtitles with huge bugs - Not able to export my project!!! (CC2017)

Hi,

since 2015.3 it is not possible to use the subtitle feature at all. I try to export a timeline with open subtitles burned in. But everytime when I do an export, the subtitles change the alignment. I changed every single subtitle to be displayed down center in the picture. But as soon as I try to export, some of them change to center/center or down/right.

So it is essentially not possible to use this feature!

This is a bug that is persistent since 2015.3. I cannot believe that Adobe advertises improvements in subtitling with 2017 and doesn't remove these obvious and show stopping bugs!

Sorry - but with every new buggy CC version I'm really thinking more and more that it's time to change my editing program to Resolve and get rid of that buggy Adobe Suite! That was the same back in the days when I switched from Avid Media Composer to Premiere CS5.

Regards

I am trying to use the new open captions features and am stopped by the fact that when I type in the sentence and align it to the center, it jumps off the screen to the left.  Making all sorts of adjustments does nothing.  Super buggy! Too bad, the demos of new features on Lynda.com look fabulous, but are impossible to use!

And it's amazing that they're advertising these improvements, like you said, while it still lacks basic features like editing the style of all the captions, for example. Didn't even get to the exporting part. Unusable from the start, for me.

    Yes it's a shame!

    Next bug:

Suddenly the captions window doesn't show any captions at all. They are in the timeline but they don't appear in the captions window anymore. So I'm not able to edit them anymore. Restarted Premiere but no change. Empty captions window.

    This is a nightmare!

...they reappear when you don't use a "free" window for the captions editing window. As soon as I dock the caption editing window back on to another window and switch the tabs at the top back and forth the captions are there again.

    Bugs Bugs Bugs!
