optical flow not applied on pulldown clips

29.97 clip on a 25p timeline > export selecting optical flow

result: stutter.

surely this is where it should be applied? How else do you do it?

interpret footage, then set its speed to 119.88%?

Might want to convert the footage to 25p with Ae first.

Mixing so called ntsc and pal framerate is a big pita.

Tried is so many time.

Mixing is not on my list anymore.

But sometimes it happens. there should be a way to deal with it gracefully.  I ended up doing exactly what I said:

interpreting the footage so that it was at the same frame rate as my project, speeding it up 119.88%, then exporting with optical flow turned on and re-importing.  The last 2 steps necessary because I've found that footage that has "optical flow" selected in the speed dialogue is ignored if export is set to "frame blending". This didn't use to be the case. Sometimes it feels like working with premiere is 10% working and 90% workaround.

getho,

I tried to reproduce your issue without a dramatic difference. Can you show us a screen recording and give us full system specs and source media type? Not that I doubt you, I have heard of others having a similar issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

are you seeing the usual pulldown stutter when putting a 29.97 clip on a 25 timeline?
