Critical Bug Report: Media Relinking and Project Disorganization

Hello Adobe Support Team,

I am experiencing two persistent bugs in Premiere Pro that are making the software nearly unusable on my machine:

1. Relink Media / Locate Bug: When I try to locate offline media and select the exact folder where the file is, Premiere ignores my selection and starts searching ALL connected drives. This happens even when the file is clearly present in the targeted path. It is a slow and inefficient process that didn't happen in older versions.

2. Project Bin & Link Corruption: Every time I close and reopen a project, the internal folder (Bin) organization is lost. Files are moved out of their folders automatically. Also, media frequently goes "Offline" for no reason, even though I haven't changed any file paths or versions, forcing me back into the "Locate" bug mentioned above.

System Specs:

  • OS: Windows [10 ou 11] (Original)

  • Hardware: Ryzen 9 / RTX Series / NVME Storage

  • Premiere Pro: [Versão Atual, ex: 2026]

I am using original software and high-end hardware. I have already tried clearing the media cache and resetting preferences, but the issues persist.

Please, I need a solution for this. It is extremely frustrating to deal with these basic organization errors every single day.

Preferred Premiere Pro folder structure:

all assets better be located within the same folder where the

Premiere Pro project is. Always do backups of project files.

Hi @ltaudiovisual30858801bdrs - Your Relink Media bug is a known issue in version 26.0.2.  It is fixed in Beta and will be included in Premiere version 26.2

Your second issue is very strange I haven’t seen this before.  Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?

When you say “media frequently goes offline,” is the media stored in Dropbox or OneDrive?

These cloud services can automatically remove local copies of files if they detect that your internal drive is running low on space. When that happens, the media is no longer fully available on the disk, which can cause it to appear offline in the project.

It's worth noting that the search system in internal folders sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't.
