Overexposure when exporting video

Hello!

Everytime I export my video it gets totally overexposed. In my timeline it looks perfectly fine but as soon as I export it it doesn't look like the timeline anymore. I tried every technique I could find on the internet but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know what to do? I am frustrated.

That happens because of a color space mismatch. Easily fixed.

You have an HDR clip, undoubtedly HLG, and either used it on an SDR/Rec.709 sequence with Rec.709 export, or on an HLG sequence with SDR/Rec.709 export preset.

ALL three must match, clip, sequence, and export color spaces.

Typically  ... go to the clip in the Project panel, right-click Modify/Interpret Footage, set the Override-to option to Rec.709.

Then make sure the sequence is Rec.709 working space (Sequence Settings menu), and use only a standard export preset, that does not have either HLG or PQ in the preset name.

Thank you so much for your answer!

Where exactly can I choose the export preset and what would be a standard preset for instance?

On export, any of the options, like ProRes422, or Match Source Medium Bitrate, is a preset. As noted, simply select any without HLG or PQ in the name of the preset.
