Pen Tool Opacity not working in Premiere Pro 2026 (v26.x)

I recently updated to Premiere Pro version 26.0 and I’m having a weird issue with the Pen Tool (P).

I’m trying to add opacity keyframes directly on the timeline, but the Pen Tool won’t let me click or add points

Starting v26, the masking tools are now available in the toolbar. You may refer to this link to learn more about it. Let us know if you have any questions.

You people at Adobe really screwed up with this change. The old system worked fine. Your "improvement" does not work at all and is more cumbersome, even if it does somehow work as described. Please revert it back in the next update. Very frustrated with this.
