Performance problem with large projects

I read your post with interest. I have a feeling that there could be a few potential bottlenecks here. The first thing I am curious about is your media. Which camera shot the media? If it isn't media from a camera, what is its origin? A mobile device? A video stream, like from a screen recording? Also, if so, have you tried transcoding H.264 media (especially if it has variable frame rates) before editing with it? What happens if you do not add adjustment layers and apply effects directly to the footage? Are you using many GPU accelerated effects? If so, which ones? These are the usual culprits when you have a somewhat under powered system for what you are trying to achieve. "a bridge too far," so to speak. In other words, more info would be helpful. Lastly, launching the app with the Shift key held down and resetting preferences/deleting media cache from the Reset Options dialog box can also help. Sorry for the assistance.
