I have a add a image (This is a circle shape) to a layer and want to place an image inside the shape.

How would this be done?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I was able to do this with an opacity mask using a circle but I also have a few other custom shapes that are png files. How would I apply to these chapes?

Also, it is possible to resize just the image within the shape? When I try to do this it resizes the shape and image.

The shape in the EGP is not an image, you make it yourself.

Shape and image are independently editable.

If you are referring to Premiere Pro, because I see that you say "Layer" and in Pr, layers are not handled, but Tracks.

In fact it should be the other way around, first you add the image and then apply an elliptical mask in Opacity from the Effects Control panel.

Place the circle image on video track 2 and other image on video track 1.

Apply an opacity mask on video track 2.
