Play button disappears as soon as its stopped

This has been an ongoing issue, and it is very counter productive. When a clip is stopped, the play button disappears. I've uploaded two screenshots of how it looks.

Please fix this. It is very frustrating. Resetting the workspace is not a solution.

The first screenshot is the program monitor, the second one is the References monitor, which does not have a play button.

Is there a way to prevent the monitor from switching after stopping a clip? The only way I can get the play button to reappear (or have it switch back to the program monitor?) is by moving my position on the timeline, and having to do that every time is very frustrating.

I'm not sure after which update this has been happening, but it's been happening for a few months. I can temporarily resolve this issue by resetting the Workspace, but that is not a reasonable solution. This only happens when I click the stop button. I've added two screenshots to show what I'm talking about.

Please fix this.

I have the exact same issue. Super frustrating. Happened after the last update.
