Playback gives false colours Premiere 24 / Mac Sonoma

After doing a rough grade on some footage and playing back unrendered I'm noticing that the playback is displaying different colours to when the clip is paused. If the clip is rendered it displays the correct grade - the same as when it's paused.

That is such a weird behavior. Jarle Leirpoll noted it first ... apparently, it's actually affecting sequence behavior, not just preview files if created. Which it didn't used to do, and is durn annoying.

Thanks, that did it - also it wasn't actually happening on all clips, only some, though all are MXF (obvs just a wrapper) from different sources...

And ... odd as it sounds ... the Sequence settings preview option for Max Depth ...

Its set to Full and have tried high quality playback...the scopes visibly change between pause and playback.

What's your Program monitor playback setting for quality?

actually it's doing it again. auto tone mapping off, no input lut, color management on, rec709 color space in an arri cinema tineline... seems to happen on restarting the project.

Ah yes its the auto tone mapping. Had forgotten about that... would be best if these things are defaulted to off rather than on.
