Playback in timeline is going too fast.

Had this problem before... playback in the timeline is going too fast.

Last time i posted this problem on here not one person had any clue what to do, is that still the case?

I'm on CC 2017 and the audio input is switched to off... the only solution known when googling this problem.

Exporting a segment of the timeline results in a sped up video as the export.

Opening projects that worked yesterday and played back fine for days are suddenly too fast, my current project is playing back too fast and I am now WASTING editing time trying to get the overpriced software to simply work like it did yesterday. These projects worked, nothing changed other than me going between work and home and opening them off an external hard drive... these projects played back at regular speed both at home and at work perfectly for weeks now... now suddenly Premiere is again stuck playing back on fast mode... WTF is this?

Does anyone out there actually know how to fix this...

before you ACPs jump in on this one, read that carefully... I said, if you actually know how to fix this, I'd appreciate a response...  not fill this thread with confusion and non answers.
