Playback issues video lagging

So I've been running Premiere Pro CC on my system for a couple of months now after I got a whole new computer setup because of lagging issues and lo and behold I'm still experiencing issues with playback lag in Premiere Pro which is making it extremely frustrating to try and edit my videos. I set playback to 1/2 to help out as much as possible. Here are my computer specs,

Program - Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3

Computer - Lenovo M900 Tower

Processor - Intel Core i5 6600

OS - Windows 10

GPU - GeForce GTX 1060 (GPU Accelerated CUDA selected in Premiere)

SSD - Samsung 500GB

I'm saving all my projects to my SSD and putting the video files that I'm using on my SSD as well. Any clues to what could possibly be happening?

I'm having  a simliar issue. I"ve just upgraded from CS6 to CC17 and now playback is stuttery and sluggish. I was advised by Adobe to update to Sierra, which I  have now done. And today I was advised to move working projects to the mac rather than external HDs but this has made no difference.

Very frustrating! My computer is definitely big enough to handle it but it is impossible to edit. I"m only editing in HD so really annoying!

Any help on this would be great!

having the exact issue myself.  I just purchased and installed premiere CC 2017 and the program monitor is not even playing back my video in the timeline. The lag is insane.

I use CS6 as well and it works just fine. I have UHD footage with playback at 1/8th quality.

I also have all my RAM dedicated to Premiere, 32GB.

There are no other programs running. my graphics card is a geforce gtx 980Ti

Hi Sam,

I"ve uninstalled CC17 and installed CC15.3 and things are fine now.

It's annoying that I cant use the latest version until they sort out the bugs but am just happy to having a working editing suite!

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message
