Playback of audio keeps changing during editing

I am editing some audio, cutting out sections, and this keeps changing the speed of playback. When I go to speed / duration it is set at 100%, but its playing back at a faster rate. I have to keep going to speed / duration and typing in 100% for the speed to play at normal rate recorded. This only started after the recent update, so wondering ig its a bug? Its very annoying, and making editing frustrating.
