Question

Playback shows up on main screen instead of external monitor

Hi,

When I turn playback on it appears on the main screen instead of the external monitor I have connected.

Have anyone tried something like this?

I'm using an iMac. Normally, everything works fine.

Hope you can help, thanks.

    Hi there,

We have a newer version of Premiere Pro (13.1.3) available for download. Please let us know if it's working properly in the newer version.

    Thanks,

    Sumeet

Hopefully there is a fix on the horizon.

Up until three days ago everything was fine. I'm running a 2017 iMac 27" Retina with Radeon Pro 580 8GB and 64GB of DDR4 memory. Up until now I have been using a 4k Samsung monitor as my edit landscape. Another Samsung 4k as my client monitor and my iMac as my color grading monitor. I can still select my Samsung client monitor for playback. But when I select the iMac for additional playback- it doesn't work. I have been working with this set up for quite some time- and now???

I look forward to a solution.

trashing Preferences only worked temporarily Im afraid. Forgot to mention I am using High Sierra, but this has been a problem for years after searching thru many forums.  I resorted to uninstallling Premiere completely, rebooting, then reinstalling and that happened to solve the problem the past week.

    I'm currently working on a late 2014 Retina 5K 27" Imac.

Two external monitors - One 4K via DVI from the Thunderbolt port, and one 1920 via HDMI from the other Thunderbolt port.

I had this problem with my 4K external - only my 1920x1080 work monitor was showing Mercury Transmit, no matter how many times I selected the other one. I closed the software, disconnected the 1920x1080 monitor, and re-opened the software. It worked. But I still wanted to use my 1920x1080, so I reconnected it while the software was open. It registered it. Both monitors worked. Closed and re-opened the software. The fix stayed.

    Worth a try.

That fix didnt work for me. I tried that early in the debugging process. I ended up complaining to Adobe Support chat. They had me ditch my preferences and that was all it took!

I want to register the same complaint. I am using a 2018 iMac 5K with Radeon 580 8GB VRAM and 16 GB RAM. I have iMac and two additional monitors. Mercury Transmit always forces to my palette monitor not my client/color grading monitor. Worked fine on the previous version.

How can Adobe not QC test for stuff like this.... why break stuff that has nothing to do with the updates???

    GeForce 1060
    1 monitor - Asus 1680x1050
    2 monitor - Asus 1680x1050
    3 monitor Illiyama 1920x1080 16:9
    4 monitor LG - 2k - 21:10

My comment was not referring to monitor resolution but monitor scaling  ... in the OS, are any monitors set to other than 100% scaling?

    Just to get the information.

What sizes are the monitors involved, and do you have any scaling on either through the OS?

I think you are getting the same problem I am.

Updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and now won't output to my second monitior.

Everytime I click to enable the second monitor, Premiere keeps taking the tick out.

I've now gone back to the earlier version and it works fine on both monitors.
