Question

Playback suddenly playing at different speed

Hey there, Community.

I've been trying to fix this weird thingy since an hour.

So, I didn't use Premiere for some days. Today I started it and opened up a project I wanted to continue working on, but suddenly the playback was not playing at the normal speed.

I tried looking in the forums but I found weird audio driver stuff and the option to change playback speed with "SHIFT + J/L"

I tried playing around with SHIFT + J/L, but I never get it to the normal speed, either faster or slower.

The audio is also weird, glitching and bugging around, just like the video.

I don't know what to do anymore at this point. The project has been working just fine some days ago, and I did exactly nothing to it, I didn't even start Premiere.

I also haven't downloaded any new drivers or related stuff like this, I really don't know where this is coming from.

Please, help me.

Thank you.

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot the properties of your media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean install of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.
