Playhead stuck in timeline, but the video is not

(Latest version of Premiere Pro as of 15/7/2023)

Whenever I try to play the sequence, the video plays, but the playhead (and the entire sequence UI) stays frozen. It runs just fine when the video is paused, but when it plays I can't do anything in the sequence UI. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
