I am using version 13.0 of premiere.

In the lumetri color tab i am trying to use the selective color, inside of the HSL secondary tab and when i select a color (skin tones) with the eyedropper tool, then i try adjust the saturation or luminance and it has no effect on the color i chose. any ideas would be greatly appreciated!? Thanks!

This is most normally an issue where the user hasn't 'trimmed' the selection ... have you used the mask feature to see what you've actually selected?

In this shot, I simply clicked on her forehead, and this is all that was selected ... note where I underlined in red? That brings up this mask from the options, and when checked, shows you what you have selected.

The quickest way to figure out where your next step in isolating tones is to un-check the Sat and then the Luminance sliders, to see which action brings the wider selection of pixels you want to see into view in the mask. In my case, un-checking Sat did absolutely nothing, but un-checking Luminance suddenly got her whole face in ... and a few other things.

So at that point, I worked with the Luminance sliders, both widening and changing the mid-point, then pulling the Hue slider in tighter, to get the following ...

At this point I would normally set the Denoise to around 7-15, and blur to 3-7 or so, viewing on the Program monitor, so I get a smooth chatter/noise-free selection.

Hey Neil I have tried using the mask and making sure it is selecting where Exactly I want to make changes, i then try to change the hue/ saturation/luminance but it doesnt change the clip at all no matter how far I push the sliders. but thank you for taking time to help, if you have any other thoughts that would be appreciated

You are using the controls below the mask/key setting controls for changing the image? The ones at the below the Denoise/blur option in the HSL tab?

I can't touch any of those without changes. Though uncheck the mask while making changes to the tonality of the area selected.
