Position changes when I add a transform distort effect to an adjustment layer

I'm simply just dragging a transform distort effect onto an adjustment layer and then next thing I know my video start to slowly move off the screen for no reason. I check to see if it changed the position stat at all and it doesn't so there is no reason for why it moves.
