PP 2018 "reveal in project" not working when in thumbnail view

PP 2018 12.1.1 PC win 10, I have recreated this on 3 systems so far, all win 10, all updated systems! Been using PP for 20 years.

When bins are in thumbnail view then you go to your timeline & select a clip, rt click & choose "reveal in project" nothing happens in the project unless:

1) Thumbnail view, The bin that houses the clip is already open then you will see the highlighted clip

2) If i am in list view it will highlight & find it. (I never use list view for the type of editing i do)

The problem is this never happened until the last 2 minor updates to 2018. all prior version of pp allowed you to reveal in project in thumbnail view even if the clip was 10 levels down from the root.

I have tested this in other recent versions (and now again in 12.1.1), and agree there is a bug. However, I get the same results whether in icon view or list view. Icon and thumbnail are two different terms, but I get the same results whether the thumbnail option is used or not.

There are some other options for the thumbnails (in the list or icon view), and I did not test all of them.

The difference for me is whether there is at least one panel (you can have more than one project panel tab) that leaves the bin for the asset at or below the opened level.

Not saying you're not getting what you are seeing, I just can't replicate the icon vs list difference.

There is another bug (which may or may not be related) that results in the same issue for "reveal sequence in project."

Re: Different (broken) behaviour of "Reveal Sequence in Project" in latest Premiere

In the new bug system, the entries for the reveal [clip] in project" is here:

'Reveal in Project' Command not working – Adobe video & audio apps

And "reveal sequence in project" here (says Mac, but also applies to Win):

Reveal Sequence in Project not working properly on Mac in 12.1 – Adobe video & audio apps
