PP hang, then program monitor black screen until pp restarted

Hello all,

For a few months I've been having an issue in pp (mostly... sometimes in ae). While I am working in pp, sometimes I click anywhere and my enitre screen (not just in pp) will hang for about a minute or 2. When it comes back the program monitor in pp is all black. and everything else is functioning fine. Inside and outside of pp, except if ae is open, in which case, the ae program monitor will be white. Audio and everything else works, but not the program monitors until I restart pp and ae. If media encoder was open I have to restart it as well because otherwise all the jobs will fail until I do.

I have tried the newest nvidia drivers, I've also gone back a few versions and it still happens. I clean resinstalled windows 11, and it came right back.

Windows 11 pro

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

GTX 1660 super 6gb Ram

48 Gb RAM

When I look at my reliability reports on windows it indicates that the CEPHTML engine has failed... at least that's what I get from this:

Faulting application name: CEPHtmlEngine.exe, version: 11.3.0.105, time stamp: 0x61260c83
Faulting module name: libcef.dll, version: 88.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x60270a51

Report Id: 54074e98-404b-4686-82fc-7101d3468d82
Faulting package full name:

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Yeah, I have about 14 extensions installed. I'm not entirely sure but I think it started after i got the logitech mx master 2s. I installed their software (logitech Options) which DOES install an extension for some reason. I moved it from the extension folder to somewhere else in my drive, and I haven't had the problem. We'll see.

That's a little weird, arielreyes. Do you have any extensions installed? If so, can you try reinstalling them?

Thanks,

Kevin
