ppro 2017.1 crashes on save in windows? I have a workaround!

I just discovered that if Ppro hangs when you go to save a project:

close everything else down, goto sign out of windows. It tells you that ppro is stopping you from signing out. Hit cancel. When you return it'll ask if you want to save changes before closing.  Simply trying to close the window does not work for me.
