Question

PProCC not showing video in Source or Program window when alternate layout is saved.

I work with two screens, where my program window is on my second screen and everything else is on my main screen. I have this layout as my main saved window layout.

One day I opened up an old project and rather than seeing my footage in the Program window, I see a grey rectangle. If I play what's in the timeline, no video only audio comes through.

If I bring footage into the Source window, I get nothing. However, if I bring up the export dialogue box, the video can be seen.

When I attempt to quit PProCC it won't fully close, instead it goes into the background. Meaning I can't reopen it unless I go into the task manager and close it from the background.

Now, if I reopen the same project, revert back to the default window layout, quit, close via task manager, and then reopen: everything is great, video everywhere it needs to be.

This has been an ongoing issue for the past six months. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Adobe creative suite, as well as doing a factory reboot of Windows10.

The problem persists. I have a workaround which is reverting back to the default window layout and saving every time before closing a project. But I shouldn't have to do that.

Somewhere there's a disconnect with Adobe, my video card, and my second monitor.

Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?

Thanks.
