Pr slow perfomance

New to Pr and new to editing and new to film.

Took my GoPro 8 (set to 4k) out to film some random things to practice editing.

I downloaded Pr last night, and for the first 10-15 minutes everything was great, but then I noticed it started to lag... then delay... now it's just slow and annoying. I almost want to get my money back, but I'm sure there's a fix.

MacOS Catalina 10.15.1

Processor 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I've watched tutorials on YouTube, and I never see anyone else's Pr work this slow. What can I do to speed this up? Help!

You will need to get a more powerful computer.

They only recommend PCs. The OP is on macOS. I see why you are recommending them. More bang for the buck on the PC side, for sure.
