Pr (v26.0) version unable to use transitions from Film Impact Dashboard

I am using the New Premiere (v26.0) version. I am unable to add any transitions from the Film Impact Dashboard. When i try to apply it between two clips, it gives me the following message: "Transition not applied on all clips or sides". Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Subject: Issues in Premiere Pro 26 – Film Impact Dashboard and Production Migration

    Dear Adobe Management Team,

I am writing to raise two serious concerns regarding Premiere Pro version 26.

First, I would like to understand why critical functionality appears to have been released without proper testing. Specifically, I am referring to the Film Impact Dashboard extension.

In Premiere Pro 26, when navigating to Window → Extensions → Film Impact Dashboard, the panel opens correctly and displays effect previews. However, when selecting two clips and clicking “Apply,” Premiere returns the message: “Effect not applied to all clips.”

The same effect can still be applied manually from the Effects panel, but the Dashboard workflow with previews is significantly more convenient—especially for newer effects that are easier to identify visually. This functionality worked properly in version 25, which makes the issue particularly concerning.

Film Impact Dashboard is a relatively recent addition to the Premiere ecosystem, and it is difficult to understand how such a regression could pass into a public release.

My second concern involves migrating Productions from version 25 to version 26.

I actively use multiple Productions, each dedicated to a specific project. During migration to version 26, my system repeatedly froze with a white screen and became completely unresponsive. Because of this, I initially postponed upgrading, assuming the issue would be resolved in version 26.0 or 26.1. However, the problem persisted.

After investigation, I determined that Premiere was exhausting available RAM during the migration process. In order to complete the upgrade, I had to increase my system page file to 200 GB. This is an extreme and unreasonable requirement for what should be a standard version migration workflow.

Why was this scenario not properly tested? Migration between major versions is a fundamental and expected workflow for professional users working with Productions. I am confident that many users have encountered similar difficulties—some may have resorted to manual project transfers, while others may have avoided upgrading entirely.

I kindly request clarification on the following:
     1. When will the Film Impact Dashboard issue be fixed?
     2. Why does Premiere Pro 26 consume excessive memory during Production migration, and when will this be addressed?

Thank you in advance for your response.

    Sincerely,
    A long-time Adobe user

When adding FI transitons from the Dashboard one needs to select both clips and not the cut.

Go to Edit > ‘Preferences’ > ‘Timeline’

Did not work me….BUT! I changed the timeline from frames to time (ctrl + click on the blue time indicator left top on the timeline (depends on what you currently had set up)). And all of a sudden it worked again.

    Hi eorob,

Thanks for sharing your findings. Could you let us know if you're experiencing this issue with v26.0.1?

    Just solve the same problem!

    Go to ‘Preferences’ - ‘Timeline’

And set ‘video transition default duration’ to 1.00 seconds.😁
