Premier Pro 13.0.2 Title Safe Overlay not working

Hi Guys,

Since updating to 13.0.2 the title/action safe overlay on the program monitor is not working for me, this is also the case of a friend.

we are both running OSX Mojave 10.14 on mbp's.

It was working on 13.0.1 absolutely fine, even though I was experiencing crashing on that version hence why I updated.

Is there a know fix for this?

Cheers, Ben

There is an issue with Metal Renderer with Overlays functionality (Safe Margins, Title Safe, etc.) that is under investigation. A possible workaround is to set Renderer to OpenCL. File menu > Project Settings > General > Video Rendering and Playback > Renderer set to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL).

Hope this helps.

This issue should be fixed in the Premiere Pro 13.1 update update that was just posted.

Same here...not cool.

Been wondering how something this simple got overlooked when beta testing. Oh wait. We are the beta testers..LOL.

Sorry Adobe, had to say it.

Hope there is a fix quickly, Like whalezilla says, not wanting to slow down renders by using OpenCL.

Thanks!

I guess its back to the good old overlay of a title safe guide.

Don't really like having an extra layer on my timeline just for that... way to annoy an editor adobe! Hurry up. Seems like a silly bug.

Really annoying issue for a working edit suite... What is the ETA of this being fixed? It's been a few versions now... I'm running Mojave on an iMac Pro so this video render option is not available.

I'm not wanting to slow down rendering

Yeah, but I thought OpenCL was discontinued, depreciated, or at least not recommend in Mojave? I know I read apple is killing Open CL.

Apple has stated that Mojave is the last version of MacOS that will support OpenCL. So, hopefully, this and many other issues with Metal rendering are fixed before MacOS 10.15 is released.

This didn't help when using a brand new iMacPro with Mojave 10.14.2

There is no;  File menu > Project Settings > General > Video Rendering and Playback setting
