Question

Premier Pro changing the colour of my videos

I have seen this question asked so many times but the solutions don't seem to be working, I've imported my camera roll from an iPhone to my dell laptop. The videos play on my laptop perfectly. When I import them into premier pro the colour is completely changed. They're either really exposed, a yellow colour or a really dull colour. I don't understand why this is happening or how to fix it... please can somebody help me?

Basic Color Management 101.

You have a mismatch between the color space of your clips and your sequence/export. You have to fix that.

Clip color space must either be the same as the working color space of the sequence, or you need to change clip color management.

  • Select one or more clips in the Project panel/bin
  • Right-click/Modify/Interpret Footage
  • Set the Override-To option to Rec.709
  • In your Sequence settings, make sure the Working Color Space is Rec.709
  • Redo any color corrections you've already applied
  • Use presets that DO NOT have HLG or PQ in the preset name.

The above is for a Rec.709 workflow/export.
