Premier Pro Update 2020

Since updating my premier pro to the new update released (2020) I've experienced 3 times slower rendering times. I'm using a Mac book pro(2020). It sometimes takes up to 3 hours to export a video, when before the new update it only took 10-20 minutes. It's gotten so bad I'm considering switching to a different program. Is there a fix for Mac users?

Hi there,

We're sorry about the poor experience. We can get this checked. Please let us know more about the system specifications (OS, CPU, GPU and RAM), the media specifications (format/codec, frame rate and frame size). the effects applied and your export settings

Thanks,

Sumeet

Hi All:

I am having a very similar issue. Suddenly videos are taking an incredibly long time to export using the same system and settings I've always used. For example, today I had a 2:14 long video that took over 30 minutes to export. I am a windows user exporting as H.264, frame rate 29.97, width 3,840, height 2,160.  GB RAM, 15.9 GB usable, Intel(R) Core(TM) 17-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

thank you,

Chrissie Frank

is it possible your sources are from a smartphone or screen recording program?

use mediainfo to determine whether your source is variable or constant frame rate

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

if it's variable use handbrake to convert to constant frame rate

https://handbrake.fr
and here's a tutorial on how to use handbrake
