Premier pro. Video clips keep pausing every second!

i am on a dell laptop, i am using the 2015 version of adobe premiere. The video clips keep pausing every second when i try pressing the space bar/pressing play. i have tried disabling all anti virus softwares, and tried turning off the wifi. Nothing works. PLease help!
