Premiere 14.0.3 dropping audio in timeline, and missing bins

Hi. I've been having some playback touble in my timeline for Pr 14.0.3. During playback individual clips lose audio. Doubleclicking on the clip, and then replaying has thus far served as a temporary fix, but not being able to get a smooth playback is frustrating and concerning that there might be a more serious underlying problem. Does anyone know what the cause might be?

I also have had to quit and restart Premiere a number of times because the folders in my browser had suddenly "lost" all the bins and files inside. When I restart everything is in order, but again this is frustrating and worrisome. Do I need to reinstall Premiere?

Much thanks,

Sam

    Hi Sam,

We're sorry to hear about this. Are you experiencing this issue with a specific project or is it with all of them?

Also, have you tried clearing cache files and checked if it's working properly?

If clearing cache is not helping then try these steps and let us know if it works.

    • Create a new project
    • Navigate to Window > Workspaces > Editing
    • Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout
    • Window > Workspaces > uncheck Import Workspace from Projects
    • File > Import, navigate to the project file you were working with and import it.
(importing a project may take some time depending on the complexity of the project)

Once the import completes, save this new project and check if it's working properly.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

    Sumeet

    Thanks Sumeet.

The cache clear did not work by itself, but after setting up the new project it seems to be working so far.

    Thank you very much,

    Sam

After further use, the dropped sound problem has returned. As of now, the content has remained in the bins, but that might change as well.

It's just my standard troubleshooting protcol.

It seems like you may have two separate issues.

You may need to reinstall.  You also may be having a hard drive or other hardware issue.

    Try resetting the preferences:
    https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/FAQ-How-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-Premiere-Pro/td-p/8236158

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
    Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
    1. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
    • Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
    from here:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

Thanks, but reseting the preferences and the workspace did not help. I don't think it's a layout issue.

If you don't mind, can you tell me why you think it might be an issue with my graphics card?
