Premiere 2018 Transparency Distorted

A transparent graphic will randomly have distorted lines in the Alpha channel when opening a previous version project.  I can close the project and reopen and it's ok, but will return later after editing.  Does not always happen and not always on the same graphic. Any thoughts.
