Premiere 2020 Not Responding Halfway Through an Edit

Hi,

 

My Adobe Premiere on the most recent update has suddnely become non responsive. I was halfway through an edit, about 10 minutes long with almost no effects added into it yet and it froze on me entirely. I restarted my pc after waiting 10 minuts to get a save done hoping that would fix the issue. I then opened it all up again, cloed everything else on my computer, and tried again. Same thing happens, completely freezes program and goes unresponsive. 

 

PC SPECS:

i7-9700k

16gb 2667 RAM (13gb allocated to premiere in preferences tab)

2080 SUPER (Enabled in settings)

500+ GB HDD Available

 

Any help would be appreciated, this is a very important project that I would hate to lose progress on so any sort of uninstalling of apps etc scares me so hopefully there will be another workaround. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried creating a new project? Or open other older projects and do some editing on them to see if they're freezing Premiere, too?

Maybe it's the project you've been working on?

Open Premiere (do NOT open your Project), create a new project. Now IMPORT your old project into this new project, select Import Everything. 

 

See if you keep freezing.
