Premiere 2022 P2 MXF Problems

I have a IMac version 11.6.4 with 128G of RAM. I shoot on P2. I trying to work with the new PP 2022 and I am having problems. I import and edit my project. When I try to reopen the project I get the spinning wheel and the Premiere won't open. I have to force quit, relaunch PP, clear the media cache, and then I can open the project. This wasn't an issue with PP 2021.

I have tride transcoding to MXF and Apple Prores and have the same result.

Help!!

There is a known issue with the P2 format https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/premierepro-and-macos-big-sur.html

Hi Geoff,

 

We're sorry about the poor experience. Is this happening with any specific project or with all the projects? Also, please try these steps & check if it's working properly.

  • Create a new project.
  • Navigate to Window > Workspaces > Editing.
  • Window> Workspaces > uncheck Import Workspace from Projects.
  • File > Import, navigate to the project file you were working with & import it.

Once imported, save this new project & check if it's opening properly after relaunching the app.

This worked. I created a new project. Import Workspace from Projects was not checked when I opened the menu. So, I checked it and unchecked it. Not only did my new project open, but my last two early attempts opened as well.

I think the toggling of the menu seemed to be the fix.
