Premiere 2026 - Want nests, not individual clips

What the hell have you done to nested sequences?? I can no longer simply create a 3-channel video..every time I try to drag a 1080 sequence into my 5760 it brings in the source files from that sequence which defeats the whole purpose as all the scaling goes all over the place.

What is the nesting icon in the Timeline toggled to? As that can either be set to nest ... or not to nest. If that is set to not nest, then original clips come instead of the nested form of the clips.
