I bought premiere CS5.5.  years ago and have old unfinished projects that I want to get to now.  It's not working on my Mac since I upgraded to Catalina operating system. How do I re install software without having to re-purchase the new version? I don't want to buy the upgrade but want to finish my projects.

Maybe use Adobe’s 7 day free trial of Premiere to open and finish your project.

As John stated, Premiere Pro CS-anything will not run at all on Catalina. Nor will any version of Premiere Pro CC prior to the 2019 version. You see, Apple has completely eliminated all traces of 32-bit app and code support in OSX starting with Catalina, which now requires all programs to be completely 64-bit in absolutely everything just to even run at all. Those older versions of Premiere Pro, although they required a 64-bit OS to even run at all, were still laden with a significant amount of 32-bit code.

Revert back to Mojave or get modern 64-bit software.  Creative Suite contains 32-bit apps which Catalina will never support.

Beware of fake Adobe reps who may contact you privately offering to sell you software or take control of your computer. It's a scam, run away!  Creative Suite is not sold by legitimate vendors in any country.
