Premiere cc 2017 freezing on large file playback

We just got the 2017 update to Premiere (and AE) at work and now I have a bunch of files that will no longer playback in Premiere.  These are .mxf files ranging in size from 60 gigs to 160gigs.  They were playing back perfectly fine when we had cc 2015 installed, but started having lots of issues when 2017 was installed.  The file will import fine, but when I try to preview it or throw it in a comp, it just shows up as media pending, even if I wait for the peak file generation.  I was curious and tried in AE, but had similar outcomes.  I brought the files home to my personal computer with CS6 installed on it and the clips worked fine there as well.  We do not have admin rights on these computers and have to contact IT to install anything new and I noticed that our video card drivers are not up to date.  Could this be causing this problem or is there anything else you might think of?

Thanks.

I don't know if this would help with this specific issue, but you should definitely be running Adobe software under an Admin account, with My Documents left in it's default location on C:.

We've had no problems with older versions not running it under admin privileges.  Not until 2017 have we had any problems and we can't get permanent admin, because some bozo in the company decided to open a spam email and get some malware spreading through our network.  Since then, all admin rights have been taken away and we have to ask to install anything new.

Well, that's a bit like saying you won the first five rounds of Russian Roulette.

The point of using Admin is to avoid playing that game entirely.

You should not have an email program installed on a production machine anyway, if that helps ease management some.
