"With Premiere Pro closed, rename the top level folder containing the media."

    This solved the problem.

    Many thanx.

    It's a standard XDCAM 422 1080i OP1 MXF.

I can play it inside Premiere CC 2019 on my end so it's only your system. Check out this guide:

    Unofficial Premiere Pro Troubleshooting Guide

I suggest clearing your media cache first because I think this may be the culprit.

      Dear Panagiotis_Stamatas,

Good ol' "2.i." strikes again. This is rather an "evergreen" issue, so please make note of it. It might happen to you again. If you don't mind, please files your bug here: Premiere Pro: Hot (3081 ideas) – Adobe video & audio apps Maybe we can squash this bug!

      Thanks,
      Kevin

Do you have a small example file you can upload and share? Dropbox/Google Drive/WeTransfer?

Is this file from a particular camera? So these files worked in 2018 but no longer work in 2019?

Have you tested a known file? One that imported into a previous version of Premiere?

Oh yes. I opened an old (cc2018) project and media appears pending... and i can't link them again because of "unsupported or damaged file".
