Question

Premiere constantly generating the same .peak files for every shot every time I select any clip

Premiere has begun to constantly generative peak files and conform every clip in my project every time I do anything. Even so much as to just highlight a clip in the timeline set premiere off in reconforming each and every clip. This is chaos & I can not work basically at all with this constant conforming.

Does anyone know of a fix?

I have tried completely wiping out all Cache, with no solution. The only thing I have found so far that might be a clue is that I can close out the project. Go into settings and tell premiere to delete all cache. Then I will go in finder and the .pek files are still there. It seems almost as if Premere may not be seeing the cache files at all, so it re conforms that every time I attempt to do anything.

Even if I render in to out, it will render my entire timeline, green bar, and within 30 seconds premiere will start confirming again & that render is useless, gone like it never happened.

I have been having this problem for months and have tried every solution online. None of them provided by Adobe, of course. Insanely bad software

Tried Adobe support?

An Adobe tech solved this after taking over the computer for about 35 mins. My specific issue was being directly caused by the Sony Catalyst Premiere Pro Plugin. I had just downloaded Catalyst to attempt to use Sony's Stablization Software to see what the buzz was all about. I installed the plug in for premiere pro when prompted, it sounded like a cool plugin where you could basically do certain Cataylist features on your clips directly in premiere, BUT it was causing premiere to re-conform and re analyze every clip every single time I made a change to the project at all. Long story short, the Tech removed the plugin from the plugins folder in the library>application support>Adobe area. Once it was moved out of that folder, everything was back to normal immeditaely. My apologies on the delayed response, hope that helps anyone with the same issue, check your 3rd party plugins. It will save you hours of unnecesarrily resetting preferences and trashing all of your favorite settings.
