What the title says. Second time I am having troubles with the program in a short period of time hopefully someone will answer at least this topic since my last got ignored...

But basically premiere gives me "program has stopped working" error once I try to drop the imported media into the timeline. It also crashes if I touch the media while it´s generating peaks...

Anyone has a fix for this?

Hi dušang,

I am sorry for the crash issue. Please try the following step:

FAQ: How to clean media cache files?

Also, provide us more information related to the system configuration.

FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?

Thanks,

Vidya.

I have tried cleaning the media cache and that was not the case.

I am going to post all the information that is required according to the link.

- Premiere Pro CC 2017.1

- everything from the creative cloud is updated

- Windows 10 1511, 64 bit

- always working only with .mp4

- it is a "simple" error message and it is in my language however in translation it would be something like "The program stopped working properly because of a problem. Windows will close the program and warn you if it finds available solution". Nothing after that.

- laptop MSI GE72 2QC-086CZ Apache - i7-5700HQ (2.7GHz), 8GB RAM (DDR3), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (2GB DDR5) driver 381,89

- tried both "mercury playback engine" options - have always been using GPU
