Premiere Crashes when I try to use "Save as"_21

I have the same issue with Premiere Pro crashing when changing the destination file name.  I've had this problem for quite awhile, but now on a much newer computer and operating system. When Exporting a file, the destination file name often defaults to the name of the first source video which was imported. This would overwrite that source file, so it is natural to type in another file name. The opening of the File Manager / Save As window seems to be where the application (PP) becomes frozen.

Solution not mentioned yet: Adobe Media Encoder

If you cannot change the file name while within Premiere Pro, and running PP as an administrator doesn't work, try queuing the project to Adobe Media Encoder.
"Queue" is a submit button to the left of "Export" and "Cancel" on the "Export Settings" window ([File] -> [Export] -> [Media...]).
You can then click on the file name in the "Output File" column, and change the destination folder and/or file name. 
This method has worked for me.

I would still recommend that Adobe developers troubleshoot this problem.
