Question

Premiere crashes when putting a transparent png into timeline

Hi

I make a lot of videos for social media, and as you know, a large amount of the screen is hidden in 'like buttons', video captions, etc. on SoMe. So when I edit I use this transparent safe-area png made in InDesign.

This is where the problem occurs.

For some odd reason, Premiere can't handle this. It's impossible to edit anything when I put this on the timeline. But I need to attach it to see what will be visible on SoMe.

When I turn it off, I can continue editing. The file is 350kb. so it should be easy riding for Premiere, or any editing program made after 1990....

Hey Taenkmathias,

Welcome to the community, and sorry for the issue. Which version of Premiere Pro are you currently on? Do you see any error codes or messages? Let us know if you can share the png file through any file-sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Onedrive.

Thanks,

Ishan
