Question

premiere cs6 won't allow export of multiple files

hi all!

i'm running premiere cs6 on a steel-cased mac pro osx 10.7.5 with upgraded vid card and maxed out ram etc with everything running great.

i'm trying to select multiple files to send to media encoder's render queue with no luck. i've read many articles and watched many youtube tuts etc. that show it being done and it looks easy and is consistent with other progs that allow importing exporting multiple files........so i'm stoopdified as to why it's not allowing me to do so.

i've tried selecting multiple edited clips from same sequence's timeline and i go to export and 'media' is greyed out. i select a single clip doing the same and it allows me to export it. same with selecting a clip and 'nesting' it, which was explained in one tut that it turns it into it's own sequence then you can select multiple sequences and that will work..........it didn't.

am i missing some obvious step? all i'm doing is taking a long clip and cutting it into usable sections. all i need to accomplish now is to figure out how to accomplish this batch export so i'm not having to keep going back between premiere and media encoder.

thanks in advance!!

Make sure that you move the Work Area Bar over the clip before trying to export.

thanks Peru Bob for your response!

yes the work area bar is overtop the clips as i select them. i then go to export media and it will allow me to export to media encoder.....BUT it renders (let's say 3 edited clips with breaks in between) as one clip which i know about trying this process. but why go through all of this in order to produce another file which i have to re-edit again?

i prob didn't explain myself good enough the first time but i'd like to export multiple files i've already edited so they import into encoder as multiple SEPARATE files.

    is this even possible??

You need to move the Work Area Bar over each clip separately each time you need to export a separate file.
