Question

Premiere doesn't remember bin settings

Hi everyone,

I have version 23.5.0 build 56.

Windows 11

Prior to this version, Premiere would remember my working preferences for each bin.

I have 4 bins with icon view, sort by label, and 2 bins with list view.

Now, everything reverts to list view each time I close and re-open a file.

Extremely annoying and time wasting, especially when I'm working from self-made PP templates all the time.

Any ideas please?

Also, this version automagically appends _1 to every file name in the Export panel.

Previously this only happened if it detected an identical file name.

I have this same issue... frustrating. PP did not do this several versions ago.

Have you found a solution?

What thing have you tried? Same everything as in the OP?

I understand what you're suggesting, and in fact I have tried that recently, to no avail.

All it did was cost me valuable time through having to recreate items.

It's not practical for me to do that again due to the volume of edits I have to get through.

I work with around 50 templates on a regular and very busy basis, so I would rather have this addressed as what it appears to be, a bug in this update, but I do appreciate your help.

Make sure everything is backed up. As a longtime user, surely you know what to backup. Then try it, and see if it solves your problem. Start with a stock Adobe workspace and quickly spread some things out as you like them, save it as a new Workspace and try it. If it doesn't change anything, just go back to your current, fine-tuned one.

Thank you, but neither of those things are suitable, as I use two screens and have worked from a custom workspace for a long time. It suits my needs perfectly, and also worked perfectly prior to this update.

Thanks again.

If you hold down shift when you click (double-click) your PP icon, you can reset your prefernces to default and some other options. You might want to try that one in particular. Inside Premiere make sure you are using a default Workspace, like perhaps the EDIT workspace, see what happens.
